Ayla (2008-2017)

This is a short video I made of my precious little Boston Terrier shortly after she was rescued and fostered with us.

Her name was Layla, but when we adopted her we renamed her to Ayla.

We had many glorious walks and cuddles before she went on to the Rainbow Bridge. Oh, how she loved her walks and would jump and twirl when she heard the rattle of the leash. Once out walking, she was intense and all over the place sniffing and checking out everything, go forward and then retrace forgetting herself in the moment. I even wrote her a little poem.

Ayla my boston terrier

She had the most incredible ears. She carried them aerodynamically back when on the search, forward and twitching when seeking out a new sound. She was instantly obedient to any commands to wait or stop and constantly checked in with me to make sure all was good. Oh, but, she loved the freedom and excitement of the long summer walk!

Funny how I used to think she was a bit wall-eyed, when we first met and it became one of her most endearing features. Including the little dot on her nose. Each morning, she would gently nudge me awake if I tried to get in a few extra minutes of sleep and then squirm luxuriously as a gave her a tummy rub.

I still miss her little face every day.
